TREY (2011)
Weighing 1.5kg, the Trey light is inspired by the combination of traditional and modern techniques, emphasising the narrowing gap between Eastern and Western influences. Trey is made from timber dowels that are aligned to construct a triangular frame held together using a knotted and ‘lashing’ technique, commonly seen in bamboo joinery. A cord wraps around the frame to create a ‘shade’ that comes in four colours representing the seasons in the year - Green, Red, Orange, and Blue.
