THE AZERA PROJECT (2014)

The Azera Project was a design competition initiated by Nescafe as part of a launch campaign for their new coffee product, Azera. Over a two week period, three designers were given the challenge to find another purpose for 150 plungers based on the theme of evolution.

ChristelH was selected as one of the participating designers and after the initial project brief, we gravitated towards exploring the human senses of sight, sound, and touch. The end result was the creation of three pieces: a wall light feature, speakers, and a chess set entitled Checkmate. Judged by a panel of design professionals, ChristelH was honoured to receive the winning prize and People’s Choice Award.
